Daily Formats

Three Days of Competition

Each player receives their rounded 12-month low USGA index as their playing handicap, from the MEMBER tees. Select any day for the full format.

  • Both players tee off and select the better drive. From that point, each plays their own ball until holed, and the best NET score of the two partners is recorded.
  • After the tee shot is chosen, both balls may be lifted, cleaned, and placed within one scorecard length — but must remain in like conditions (bunker to bunker, rough to rough).
  • Both individual balls are played until holed. The best NET score of the two partners is recorded on each hole.
  • The same Shamble format as Round I, contested over nine holes: tee off, select the better drive, then play your own ball until holed for the best NET score.
  • Balls may be lifted, cleaned, and placed within one scorecard length in like conditions.
  • Each player's tournament handicap is the rounded 12-month low USGA index. Maximum player handicap is 22, with a maximum of 12 strokes between partners.
  • All players use the MEMBER tees. Players 65+ with a handicap of 12 or less play the member tees; those with a handicap of 13+ may move to the WHITE tees for a loss of one stroke. Players 70+ may play the WHITE tees regardless of handicap for a loss of one stroke.
  • If you qualify and choose the white tees, please inform the Golf Shop by the Wednesday practice round so flights remain even.
  • Current champions of any Southern Highlands event are assessed a two-stroke champions tax.
  • All handicaps are subject to daily review; the committee may adjust to protect the field at any time.
